Dear Fair-Festival Talent Buyers and Promoters,
Every year you are faced with the daunting task of buying talent for your events. You’re faced with challenges of pleasing your committees as well as all of the event participants. You have to deal with routing schedules, lack of talent touring and buying talent within your allotted entertainment budget. This year I am presenting a viable option to you that can possibly help you with many of the challenges that you face.
Jimmy Buffett is the number one concert attraction in the world. This wooden rocker sells out all of his shows and he has been doing this amazing feat for over three decades. Jimmy has reduced the amount of shows that he does every year. This reduction creates hysteria over purchasing his $100+ tickets. Many people can’t get tickets, can’t travel the distances to his concerts, or can’t afford the escalating ticket prices. It is a known fact that Buffett will not play fairs and festivals. He will only perform at large venues and/or locations that he considers as his favorites. Most fairs and festivals can’t afford this star’s $150,000-$250,000 performance fee.
Low Tides and HighWays (LTAH) is a high energy eight piece Jimmy Buffett Tribute Show based in the Midwest. LTAH performs a two-three hour show of Jimmy’s hits and favorite ParrotHead songs as well as a selection of other lively Trop Rock. There are several Buffett tribute acts available throughout the United States. What separates LTAH from the others is an authentic Coral Reefer Band sound and a lead singer (Scott Manon) that sounds identical to Jimmy Buffett. Scott also has Jimmy’s down home charisma. Most tribute acts try to recreate the Buffett wall of sound with a 4-5 piece band. It can’t happen. LTAH has all of the instrumentation to give the Buffett music the needed Caribbean rock sound. We have even worked female vocals into the show. LTAH has not taken any shortcuts to produce a show of Jimmy Buffett’s music that is worthy of his tribute status.
There are three scenarios where Low Tides and HighWays can fit into your entertainment plans. The first one is where you need to fill two days of music and but you can’t afford to get two expensive acts. Go ahead and line up the even more expensive act that you really wanted but couldn’t afford and then contract Low Tides and Highways to fill the other spot. LTAH will come in at $2000-$4000 and save you the kind of money needed to get that high profile classic rock or country act. The second scenarios deals with the worrying over whether or not an older classic rock will be able to draw for you or a brand new country act will have had enough exposure and name recognition to get goers in the gates. Hire LTAH to be the opening act to insure that there will be a crowd. Even though they aren’t hearing the real Jimmy Buffett, your participants will enjoy the same kind of contagious atmosphere of the real thing. You will hear many say that it was only a tribute show but boy it was a blast. The last scenario is based around the assumption that you can’t afford the big acts and this year the board wants to give the fair something different than a local act. This is where Low Tides and HighWays becomes a viable option for you.
Give Low Tides and HighWays a chance to make you, the board or committee, the real stars of the show. Please check out our website at lowtidesband.com or you can e-mail me at mpickney@clintonia.org. My cell phone number is 563-503-9191. Let me know if we can help you with your selection this year.
